If you find a Shrine, there will be a Lightroot growing beneath it and vice versa. You still, however, have to find this Shrine on the surface to have it appear on your map. Every Lightroot location corresponds to a Shrine location on the surface, so, if you find a Lightroot, this means you've also technically found a Shrine. Instead, you'll be able to find Lightroots, which, when activiated, will light up a section of The Depths and add this area to your map. Due to this, you'll need to travel across land, investigate caves and soar through the skies to find them all! Shrines are located across the span of Hyrule - from the heights of its sky to its greenest field and even hidden away in caves.

Finding Shrine locations and completing the puzzles within them is a crucial part of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, because, if you ignore them, you won’t be able to increase your Hearts or Stamina.
